Extended professional development period that allows researchers to dedicate themselves to self-directed research and study in Japan or abroad with the goal of enhancing skills related to their field of expertise.

UTokyo Global Activity Support Program for Young Researchers (UTokyo)

This program supports the overseas travel of young researchers by providing financial support to dispatched personnel (I) and to dispatching departments (II) so that they can maintain conducive working environments. In addition to coordinating with existing programs such as the Sabbatical program, this program seeks to initiate and promote the international activity of young researchers and to establish a global base for knowledge collaboration as a Designated National University Corporation.

UTokyo Global Online Activity Support Program for Young Researchers (UTokyo)

This program seeks to promote the international activities of young researchers even “amid COVID-19” and “post-COVID-19” by supporting young researchers’ efforts to disseminate their work on the global stage and to create international networks online rather than in-person.

Overseas Research Fellowships(JSPS)

This program supports the cultivation and hiring of skilled researchers with an international perspective by dispatching exceptional young researchers overseas and enabling them to dedicate themselves to long-term research at a designated overseas research institution.

Cross-border Postdoctoral Fellowships(JSPS)

As part of JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists, this program provides support to enable exceptional young researchers to dedicate themselves to long-term research at an overseas research institution.
