SPRING GX & BOOST NAIS: 2025 Spring Call for Applications

"SPRING GX"

The University of Tokyo "Fostering Advanced Human Resources to Lead Green Transformation (GX)” project (Project officer : Professor Shin-ichi Ohkoshi) supported by support for Pioneering Research Initiated by Next Generation (SPRING) of Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), is a project involving approximately 1,154 doctoral students (including those in 4-year doctoral programs) from across the university. New SPRING GX has started in April 2024.
We are ca. 350 students entering the doctoral course in spring 2025.

Eligibility:
Those who plan to enroll in the doctoral program of the university's graduate school, or the doctoral program of veterinary medicine, medical science, or pharmaceutical science in April 2025.
Number of places: Around 350 students
Application period: From Friday, 10 January to 3pm on Wednesday, 29 January, 2025

"BOOST NAIS"

Supported by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) under the BOOST initiative for young researchers and doctoral students in national strategic areas, the University of Tokyo’s project “Advanced AI Talent Development to Lead the Next-Generation Intelligent Society (BOOST NAIS)” is open to all doctoral students (including those in 4-year doctoral programs) at the university. We are now seeking approximately 21 project participants who enroll in the doctoral program in the spring of 2025.

Eligibility:
Those who plan to enroll in the doctoral program of the university's graduate school, or the doctoral program of veterinary medicine, medical science, or pharmaceutical science in April 2025.
Number of places: Around 21 students
Application period: From Friday, 10 January to 3pm on Wednesday, 29 January, 2025
