Dr. Akito Arima, 90, passed away from heart failure on December 6, 2020. In memory of his achievements during his lifetime, a "Farewell Party" was held at the Imperial Hotel on April 23, 2021, in collaboration with Musashi Gakuen, The University of Tokyo, and RIKEN, with a designated time for attendance to ensure adequate measures against coronavirus infection and to avoid secrecy.

From the University, President Teruo Fujii, former President Makoto Gokami, Dean Masahiro Hoshino of Graduate School of Science, and other Academic and Administrative Staff who were deeply involved with the event attended.

 

 

Many of the participating organizations and people concerned offered flowers at Dr. Arima's flower altar, and then visited a photo exhibition in the room next to the flower altar, which introduced "Dr. Arima's history".

We would like to express our sincere condolences to Dr. Arima for his wide-ranging activities and wide-ranging contributions to the academic community.
