地球深部を探るダイヤモンド
地球深部の超高圧状態を実験室で実現するためのダイヤモンド。２つのダイヤの間に試料を挟んで加圧すると、試料に地球中心の圧力を超える超高圧（４００万気圧以上）を発生することができる。さらにダイヤモンドを通して試料にレーザー光を照射することにより、試料を超高圧・高温状態にすることができる。
