諏訪之瀬島御岳火山と火山ガス観測装置：鹿児島の南にあるトカラ列島の諏訪之瀬島火山は日本の中でも活発な火山の一つです。この写真は，その御岳（おたけ）火山から放出される亜硫酸ガスを観測する装置です。
