地上観測による金星夜面大気光分布
金星昼面高度100km以上で、太陽紫外光により二酸化炭素が光解離して生じた酸素原子は、昼夜間対流により夜側へ運ばれ、沈み込む際に再結合して大気光を励起すると考えられている。図に見られる反太陽点付近での増光はこのシナリオを裏付けているようにみえる。（岩上研）
