Research Field

Plant Genetics, Epigenomics

Research Subject

Epigenome, transposon, DNA methylation

Current Research

Epigenetic controls, mediated by DNA methylation, histone modifications, histone variants and non-coding RNA, play important roles in development and genome evolution. Using a model plant Arabidopsis, we are pursuing genetic and epigenomic approaches to understand molecular mechanisms and biological roles of epigenetic phenomena. By the approaches utilizing advantages of Arabidopsis, we are trying to elucidate mechanisms conserved among eukaryotes.

Keywords

Arabidopsis thaliana, DNA methylation, histone modifications, histone variants, transposons, anti-silencing
