Research Subject
Air-sea interaction in the low and middle latitudes
Current Research
I am mainly interested in ocean-atmosphere interactions in the tropics and subtropics from intraseasonal to decadal time scales. My main research topics include (1) mechanisms and predictability of ocean-atmosphere coupled phenomena (e.g. ENSO, Indian Ocean Dipole, Atlantic Meridional Mode, Atlantic Niño, Subtropical Dipole Modes, and coastal niños), (2) variabilities in oceanic circulation and phenomena and their interactions with climate modes, and (3) ocean-atmosphere interactions in the oceanic frontal zones in the mid-latitudes.
