- The University will assign the faculty member to a designated location. - 7 Required Qualification and Field of Expertise
- A Ph.D. or an equivalent qualification. We are seeking individuals with distinguished research achievements in the field of plant science, as well as a strong passion for both research and education at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- 8 Work Duties
- Education and research guidance in biology focusing on plants in Department of Biological Sciences, Graduate School of Science (graduate course) and Faculty of Science (undergraduate course). It is possible to hire one assistant professor with no fixed term.
- (In principle, the University could change or reassign work duties, but not against one’s will. (In accordance with Article 4 of the Regulations on the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members).
- 9 Working Hours
- Based on the discretionary work system for professional work, working hours are deemed to be 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.
- 10 Days off
- Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and end-of-year holidays (December 29 to January 3)
- 11 Paid Leave
- Paid leave is available for a variety of reasons (e.g., annual leave, sick leave, special leave, etc.) as described in The University of Tokyo Rules on Working Hours and Leave for Academic and Administrative Staff
- 12 Wages, Allowances, etc.
- Salary will be decided after taking into account the successful candidate’s academic and professional background, etc. Wage raise system applies. Commuting allowance (up to JPY 55,000 a month), bonus (twice a year), and other allowances decided by the University of Tokyo.
- 13 Insurance
- The successful candidate will be automatically enrolled in the insurance scheme provided by the Mutual Aid Association of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) and employment insurance. This includes health insurance and pension.
