7 Contents of work duties
The Research Center for Spectrochemistry within the School of Science at the University of Tokyo is currently inviting applications for an Assistant Professor role, with a start date of November 2023 or later. While we are particularly interested in candidates with specializations in physical chemistry, biochemistry, information chemistry, and/or analytical chemistry, we welcome innovative applicants who have shown exceptional achievements in both research and teaching across all scientific domains. A Ph.D. or an equivalent degree is mandatory by the time of hire. Applicants are requested to collate an application dossier and submit it to the Center Head by the designated deadline. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with Prof. Keisuke Goda and his team at Goda Lab ( http://www.goda.chem.s.u-tokyo.ac.jp ) and manage the Center with the Center Head.
8 Working hours
Discretionary work system for professional work applies and working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.
9 Days off and Leave
Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, and the year-end and New Year holidays (December 29 to January 3)
Annual Paid Leave, Special Leave, etc.

Basic Salary will be decided taking your academic background, professional career, etc. End of semester bonus and diligence bonus (twice a year), Commuting allowance (up to 55,000 per month if the payment conditions are satisfied), and other allowances decided by the University.
11 Insurance
You will be enrolled in the insurance from the Mutual Aid Association of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) and Employment Insurance by being provided for in the law.
12 Qualification requirements
A Ph.D. or equivalent in any field of science or engineering

  • Outline of prospective research and teaching plans (1 page)
  • Copies of selected publications (up to 5 publications)
