Renewal of the employment will be determined by taking into account budget status, assigned work progress, achievement at the end of work period, as well as attitudes in research activities.

7 Contents of work duties
Overview:
The ICEPP, UTokyo participates in the research and development of quantum computing technologies and Quantum-Native education program of quantum information science under the UTokyo’s Quantum Innovation Initiatives.
Role of the Appointee:
The successful candidates are expected to work closely with members of the ICEPP computing group and play a major role in quantum computing research and education in UTokyo. The education program includes teaching in the interdisciplinary course between Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, and Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science in UTokyo.
Appointee’s role in the research and education includes:
  • Develop quantum computing algorithm, software and applications in the collaboration with industries.
  • Participate in the Quantum-Native education program for Undergraduate and Graduate students, either on software or hardware.
8 Working hours
Discretionary work system for professional work applies and working hours will be deemed as 7 hours and 45 minutes per day.
9 Days off and Leave
Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, and the year-end and New Year holidays (December 29 to January 3)
Annual Paid Leave, Special Leave, etc.

Basic Salary will be decided taking your academic background, professional career, etc.
  • Annual salary system is adopted, and appointee will be paid about 400K- 470K JPY per month including performance-based bonus.
  • Commuting allowance (up to 55K JPY per month if the payment conditions are satisfied), and other allowances decided by the University.
11 Insurance
You will be enrolled in the insurance from the Mutual Aid Association of MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) and Employment Insurance by being provided for in the law.
12 Qualification requirements
Persons with Ph. D or equivalent degree are considered to be eligible. Those who are expected to obtain Ph. D by the time of appointment are also considered.
