Recruitment Information for Project Assistant Professor / Project Researcher

- The successful applicant will work on the MEG II experiment in search for the lepton flavor violating decay and R&D for a future experiment with a significantly improved sensitivity. He/she will also be involved in the maintenance of the computing system for the experiment.
- ※The project is conducted based on Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (S) “Search for rare muon decay with highest sensitivity to unravel grand unification of elementary particle” (FY2021-2025, PI: Wataru OOTANI)
- 3 Term of Employment
- As early as possible after acceptance is notified, to date 2022/3/31.
- Probationary period is 6 months from the date of arrival.
- 4 Renewal of Contract
- Your employment contract may be renewed (maximum till Mar. 31st ,2026). In case of renewal, the employment contract will be renewed annually.
- Renewal of an employment contract will be determined by the following factors: budget status, assigned work progress, end-of-period work volume, all relevant factors such as performance, work records, attitudes, and/or your Medical condition.

- 6 Salary and Benefits
- Determined according to the University Rules, depending on the appointee’s experiences etc.

- Annual salary system is adopted, and appointee will be paid about 380K-450K JPY per month for project assistant professor and about 300K-400K JPY per month for project researcher including performance-based bonus (depending on the appointee’s ability, performance and experience).
- Appointee may be able to have commuting allowance (up to 55K JPY per month) if the payment conditions are satisfied.
- 7 Insurance
- Enrolled in an employment and health insurance provided by MEXT Mutual Aid Association
- 8 Work Hours
- Discretionary labor system, based on 7 hours 45 minutes per day, or 38 hours 45 minutes per week
- 9 Holidays
- Saturdays and Sundays, Statutory public holidays of Japan, Year-end and New Year holidays (December 29 through January 3), Annual paid leave, Special paid leave
- 10 Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent
