Project Assistant Professor / Project Researcher Position at Research Center for the Early Universe, the University of Tokyo

Term of Appointment:
Until March 31, 2025. The contact may be extended up to March 31, 2030, at the longest depending on the research progress, performance, attitudes, health condition, and other evaluations. In case of renewal, the contact will be renewed annually.
Job Description:
To advance JSPS International Leading Research and JSPS Specially Promoted Research, “Formation Processes of Heavy Elements in the Early Universe Elucidated by Superconducting Nanoelectronics, Large-Scale Numerical Simulations, and Data Science” (PI: Kotaro Kohno at the University of Tokyo), successful candidates are expected to work with Co-I Kana Moriwaki on analytical methods for line intensity mapping using machine learning techniques and on the modeling of the line emissions from galaxies and AGNs.
(Scope of Change) May order reassignment, dual assignment, or secondment. (In principle, the faculty member will not be reassigned or transferred against his/her will. (For details, please refer to Article 4 of the Regulations Concerning the Employment of University of Tokyo Faculty Members.)
Salary:
Determined according to experience and performance. Commuting expenses will be provided if the requirements are met (up to 55,000 yen per month).

Holders of a doctoral degree at the time of appointment
Probation Period:
14 days from the date of appointment
Work Hours:
The Discretionary Labor System for Professional Work will be applied (Standard work hours: 7.75 hrs./day)
Holidays:
Saturdays and Sundays, National Holidays, New Year holidays (December29th -January 3rd), Annual Paid Leave, Special Leave, etc.
