Current Research
Understanding chemical phenomena from the perspective of atoms and molecules is a fundamental yet challenging task. However, achieving the simultaneous resolution of spatial and temporal dynamics to track molecular behavior has faced technical limitations, such as the development of suitable nano-observation fields.
To overcome these challenges, we have combined organic synthetic chemistry with electron microscopy to advance single-molecule time-resolved analytical methods, enabling the dynamic tracking of individual molecular behaviors over time. Specifically, by capturing chemical phenomena as electron microscopy videos and quantitatively analyzing them, we aim to elucidate the nontrivial dynamics of molecules and deepen our understanding of nonequilibrium processes. Through this research, we strive to generate foundational insights that broadly contribute to the field of chemistry.
