Observational Astronomy (optical, infrared); Stellar and Galactic Astronomy
Research Subject
Survey of variable stars; Kinematics and chemical abundance of variable stars; Structure and evolution of the Milky Way
Current Research
Some kinds of variable stars (Cepheids, Miras, etc) are useful tools to study galaxies, because their parameters like distances and ages can be determined accurately. I am working on photometric search for unknown variable stars (mainly in the Milky Way galaxy) and additional observations including spectroscopy to unravel the characteristics of those objects. Such observations will provide us with unique information on the structure and evolution of the Milky Way.
