Research Subject
cloud microphysics / aerosol - cloud interactions
Current Research
We have been studying cloud microphysics and aerosol-cloud interactions in the mid-latitude and Arctic regions by making in-situ measurements from the ground and research aircraft, and by conducting numerical model calculations. In the Arctic, we have been conducting continuous in-situ measurements of cloud and precipitating particles at a mountain site. We study microphysical structures of mixed-phase clouds and how aerosol affects clouds. Both mid-latitude and Arctic studies, we focus on the impact of human activities on the atmospheric environment.
