Current Research
In the modern organic synthesis that provides us with pharmaceuticals and chemical products, environmental consideration has become increasingly important as well as efficient synthesis of target substances. Towards environmentally-friendly organic synthesis, our group has been developing reaction systems for which water is used as a substitute for harmful organic solvents. At the same time, we are focusing on the development of polymer-immobilized metal catalysts that can be recovered and reused. In addition to the above, we have been working on the development of highly effective and selective reaction processes such as catalytic asymmetric reactions using chiral Lewis acids.
