Current Research
In recent years, as global environmental issues have become increasingly recognized, various development goals and targets (SDGs) that go beyond national boundaries have been formulated in order to realize a sustainable society. Furthermore, if we imagine what Japan's chemical industry will look like in the future beyond this goal, for example in 2050, we can say that the issues that need to be addressed are extremely serious. This course aims to achieve goals and conduct futuristic basic research with an eye to the future, and to develop and put them into practical use by incorporating the perspective of companies that are collaborating on research. Our research is profoundly basic research based on catalytic molecular transformation and continuous-flow organic synthesis. By strongly promoting this basic research, we are also focusing on developing human resources who can work on solving problems in Japan and the world 10 to 20 years from now.
