Solid-state Chemistry
Research Subject
Current Research
Solids are incredible. Unprecedented physical properties emerge when atoms and molecules condense into solids. In our laboratory, we create new solid materials, both inorganic and organic, and engineer unexpected physical properties. By focusing on the movement of ions and molecules inside solids, we aim to overturn the concept that solids are "hard" and establish a new perception of solids as dynamically changing. By harnessing this concept, we develop novel energy devices such as batteries and catalysts. Moreover, by actively incorporating machine learning and robotics into our research, we are establishing new approaches to chemistry.
