若者の心を刺激する
2023年度大学院科目 “Scientific Writing, Publication, and Communication”(FoPMコースワーク)学生エッセイ
基礎科学の研究は、科学や社会の未来を変革する可能性を秘めており、時には当初の研究者が思いもよらないような形で成果を上げることもあります。しかし、科学的なロールモデルがいない若者は、基礎科学が現在や将来の人類社会にとって有益であることを認識しないかもしれません。その結果、興味があっても基礎科学を学ぶ意欲をなくしてしまう恐れがあります。本コースでは、東京大学の理工大学院学生が、基礎科学における学術研究の大きな可能性を紹介することで、高校生に科学的なキャリアを歩むことを考えてもらうように、エッセイを作成しました。画期的なオープンサイエンスの相互評価プロセスを通じて、担当教員のKate HarrisシニアURAとMark Vagins教授の指導により、エッセイはより洗練されたものとなっています。ぜひ、楽しんで彼らの作品を探索してみてください。
