基礎科学の秘宝

2022年度大学院科目 “Scientific Writing, Publication, and Communication”(FoPMコースワーク)学生エッセイ
基礎科学の研究は、科学や社会の未来を変革する可能性を秘めており、時には当初の研究者が思いもよらないような形で成果を上げることもあります。しかし、このような研究の価値は、潜在的な共同研究者や学術研究に資金を提供する納税者に過小評価されがちです。本コースでは、東京大学の理工大学院学生が、基礎科学の「秘宝」を発掘し、一般の市民に基礎研究に関心を持ち、資金を提供し続けるよう説得するためのエッセイを作成しました。画期的なオープンサイエンスの相互評価プロセスを通じて、担当教員のKate HarrisシニアURA、Mark Vagins教授、Charles Yokoyama教授の指導により、エッセイはより洗練されたものとなっています。ぜひ、楽しんで彼らの作品を探索してみてください。
