Application Guidelines
The Forefront Physics and Mathematics Program to Drive Transformation (FoPM) is accepting applications from following students for April 2026 enrollment. Please refer to the application guidelines attached below for more details.
- Students who have enrolled in the Master's course in October, 2025
- Prospective students entering the Master's course in April, 2026
- Prospective students entering the Doctoral course in April, 2026
*For prospective students entering the Master's course in October, 2026, please visit the Global Science Graduate Course (GSGC) website and check the application guidelines.

From Monday, December 15th, 2025 until 3pm on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026 (JST) - Supervisor's Letter of Opinion:
From Monday, December 15th, 2025 until 3pm on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 (JST)

*Late submissions will not be accepted.
*Note that it is not until you submit your application that the email asking your supervisor to fill out the form is sent to them.

<Regarding the Statement of Purpose or Research Plan>
After the above application period, if there are any revisions to the content, they will be accepted until the following deadline. Please include your Applicant ID in the email body and send the Statement of Purpose or Research Plan (converted to PDF) directly to the WINGS Desk at wings.s@gs.mail.u-tokyo.ac.jp .
However, this applies only to applicants who have completed their application through the system by the initial application deadline of January 6.
Final deadline for resubmission of Application Essays or Research Proposal Master’s/Doctoral course:
Tuesday, January 13, 2026, by 3:00 pm(JST). [Mandatory]
<Regarding the Supervisor's Letter of Opinion>
If you wish to revise the recommendation letter, please resend the updated letter to the WINGS Desk at wings.s@gs.mail.u-tokyo.ac.jp .
Final deadline for resubmission of faculty recommendation letters:
