A robotic mannequin for virtual try-on
Virtual try-on system inaction
Our team of researchers in the Igarashi Laboratory, Department of Information Science, is developing a virtual try-on system that allows users to virtually try on clothing by posing in front of a camera. To implement such a system, we first need to capture a large volume of photographs of the garments to be tried on. Therefore, our approach involves automatically photographing a robotic mannequin wearing a garment in various poses while capturing the resulting deformations and wrinkles, then using these data to train a machine learning model to achieve highly expressive virtual try-on functionality.
