GSC Current Students Program 2017

1. Aim
To provide an exclusive opportunity for students in the School of Science to expand their horizons by experiencing cross-cultural interactions and learning from like-minded peers
2. Number of students being admitted
5 students
3. Requirements
  • Second year students currently in the College of Arts and Sciences who will be advancing to the School of Science
    (Only for those advancing to the Department of Chemistry for 2017 admission)
  • Outstanding academic achievement
  • Keen to provide support for GSC transfer students
  • Strong interest and enthusiasm in being globally active
4. Program duration
From April 2017 to September 2019
5. Program support
  1. Full or partial financial support which includes a round-trip flight ticket, living expenses, and tuition fees for a short term research abroad program (One-time-only)
  2. TOEFL Preparation Course fee and TOEFL test fee (One-time-only)
6. Application documents
All application documents must be submitted electronically by the deadline.
  • Application form (including a 1,000 word personal statement)
  • University academic transcript
  • English language proficiency test score (TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, or Eiken)
7. Application period
From December 1, 2016 to 17:00, December 16, 2016 (JST)
8. Application review
Stage One: Document screening
Stage Two: English interview
Interview date: January 10, 2017
9. Admission decisions
Via email in March 2017
(After the announcement for senior division advancement)
10. Students responsibilities
  • To take part in GSC Current Students Program Orientation
  • To submit a report and deliver a presentation upon completion of the research abroad program attended
  • To take the TOEFL test within two months after completing the TOEFL Preparation Course
    Scores must be reported to the GSC Administration Office
  • To participate in each GSC Seminar
