ILO Activities & Calendar

1. Organized Excursion
With the fund from The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho), International Students can enjoy a two-day, one-night trip for the purpose of experiencing Japanese culture. The School of Science, organizes a trip with this allowance to provide International Students a chance to get to know more people and make friends with them. In the past, we have visited Nikko, Lake Yamanaka, Hakone, Izu, Kiyosato, Azumino & Matsumoto, Nikko and Karuizawa.
2. Year End Party
In December, we close the year by holding a big lunch party. This is open to everyone at the School of Science and volunteers are welcomed to bring their home country dishes so that everyone can enjoy a variety of foods.
3. Tea Party
The ILO holds an international tea party 2-3 times a year. This is to provide a chance to meet new people, make friends and enjoy chatting with international students, visiting fellows and Japanese students from the School of Science. On some occasions, students take this time to introduce their home countries. Please inquire at the ILO for the detailed schedule.
4. Party Hosted by the Dean
We hold a party for “International Students and Visiting Researchers at the School of Science” in February hosted by the Dean. It is a good opportunity for international students, visiting researchers and the families to get to know each other and meet the faculty and staff members of the School of Science.
