Research Field
Solar and Astrophysical Plasma Physics
Research Subject
Theoretical and Observational Study on High-Temperature Plasmas in the Sun and in the astrophysical objects
Current Research
“Long-term accumulation of magnetic energy” and “release of explosive magnetic energy” are repeated in astrophysical high-temperature plasmas. As a result of these phenomena, ultrahigh-temperature plasmas and high energy particles are accelerated. The flares in the solar corona are a typical example, which is the biggest explosion in the present solar system. We are working to clarify the physical mechanisms of these active phenomena based on numerical simulations on super-computers as well as data analysis obtained from large-scale observational instruments including satellites.
