Research Subject
Theoretical study on the generation of aurora and field-aligned current in the magnetosphere
Current Research
Dynamo process to drive field-aligned currents in the magnetosphere has been studied, which is expected to provide a key to understanding the generation mechanism for discrete auroras. Realizing that aurora phenomena could not be understood within the framework of the reconnection paradigm, this study may lead to a conclusion that the everlasting dynamo in the magnetosphere is attributed ultimately to some asymmetry in the interaction between the magnetosphere and the solar wind.
