Theoretical and numerical study of instability, bifurcation, chaos, pattern formation, and turbulence in fluid dynamics
Current Research
We study nonlinear phenomena such as instability, chaos, solitons, and pattern formation in water waves and viscous fluid flows. Mathematical models derived from the fundamental equations of continuous media are investigated by using various methods. Dynamical properties are explored by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation. Predicted results are compared both qualitatively and quantitatively with experiments and observations of fluid phenomena.
