Research Subject
Study of geographical differentiation and evolutionary diversity of widely-distributed plant species in the Japanese archipelago
Current Research
By investigating the genetic relationship among regional populations for widely-distributed plant species in the Japanese archipelago, I clarify their historical changes of species range and geographical differentiations at the intraspecific level. Concerning the evolutionary event in each plant, I focus particularly on Aucuba japonica that shows intraspecific differentiation of ploidy level and investigate to clarify dynamic state of gene exchanges in the suture zone of chloroplast lineage groups and different ploidy level, based on the analysis of population genetics.
