Research Field

Infrared Astronomy

Research Subject

Research on Stellar Evolution -Birth and Death- based on Infrared Spectroscopic Observations

Current Research

Developing infrared spectrograph, and by using them, we study star-forming regions, interactions between young stellar objects and interstellar matter, physical and chemical evolution of materials in molecular clouds, mass-loss phenomena in the final stage of massive-star evolution. Moreover, we construct an infrared telescope and also are planning a larger infrared telescope at the altitude of 5600 m in Chile, the highest place on the ground.
