Research Subject
Experimental study of antikaon-nuclear interaction
Current Research
I study the antikaon-nuclear interaction by searching for the antikaonic nuclear states or by measuring precisely antikaonic atoms. The existence of antikaonic nuclear states, with experimentally observable narrow width, is yet unsettled problem under very hot discussion. Antikaonic atoms, which are the bound systems of kbar meson and nuclei by the "Coulomb" force, are very interesting systems which can be very clearly identified with fruitful information of the kbar-nuclear "strong" interaction. Recently, the nature of "Lambda(1405)" baryon, which is regarded as the simplest kaonic nucleus, is getting to be recognized as the key issue of the research field, and I try to reveal the nature by an experiment at the J-PARC 50 GeV proton synchrotron.
