Research on Elemental Fractionation Processes Linked to the Origin and Evolution of the Earth and the Solar System
Current Research
In order to understand how elements were fractionated during the formation and evolution of the earth and the solar system, I am working on clarification of equilibrium/non-equilibrium partitioning among minerals, silicate melt, and gas as well as its mechanisms based on observation on natural rocks with theoretical and experimental approaches. Currently, the main target of my research is elemental and isotopic fractionation during segregation and fractionation of magmas in the Earth’s crust and upper mantle, cooling and ascent process of mantle materials, and mineral-gas reactions.
