Research Field

Extragalactic Astronomy, Observational Cosmology

Research Subject

Structure and evolution of galaxies and clusters of galaxies, High redshift universe, Cosmological parameters, Astronomical image processing system

Current Research

(1) To reveal how the present-day galaxies, clusters of galaxies, and large scale structure has evolved from their counterparts in the early universe by means of surveys for high redshift galaxies in the optical and near infrared wavelengths. (2) To reveal the difference between the intrinsic properties of galaxies and properties modified in the evolution history of galaxies. (3) In the past, I studied cosmological parameters such as the Hubble constant and developed various mosaic CCD cameras and astronomical image processing systems.
