Research Field

High Energy Astrophysics, Experiment

Research Subject

Observation of high energy phenomena in the universe, and development of new detectors for it

Current Research

We are currently using Suzaku X-ray observatory in orbit, to observe energetic object such as black holes and clusters of galaxies. The Hard X-ray Detector onboard Suzaku is developed by our group in collaboration with JAXA and other institutes. We also are involved in the ASTRO-H project, new generation X-ray observatory to be launched in late JFY 2012.

Keywords

High energy astrophysics, X-ray / gamma-ray detectors, space observatory, clusters and groups of galaxies, blackholes
