Research Field

Quantum information theory

Research Subject

Quantum information processing using entanglement

Current Research

Quantum information processing seeks to perform tasks which are impossible or not effective with the use of conventional "classical" information, by using "quantum" information described by quantum mechanical states. (Examples: Quantum computation, quantum cryptography, and quantum communications.) Entanglement is nonlocal correlation appearing in certain types of quantum states (non-separable states) and has been considered as the fundamental resource for quantum information processing. In our group, we are investigating new properties of multiparticle entanglement and the use of these properties as the resources for quantum information processing.
