Research Subject
Mineral-water-atmosphere interactions at the Earth's surface
Current Research
Mineral-water-atmosphere interactions play an important role in the evolution of atmosphere and ocean, and transport and cycles of elements. We investigate the fundamental processes, mechanisms and rates of the interactions recorded in minerals as, for instance, weathering and alteration mainly by analyzing chemistries and structures of the minerals. We apply the results at the nano to micro levels to macroscopic phenomena such as element transport and atmospheric evolution in the Precambrian.
