Research Subject
Radioactive Nuclides in Environmental Samples and Their Concentrations, Migration, and Effects
Current Research
In environmental samples, not only natural radioactive nuclides but artificial ones such as fall-out nuclides are contained. Concerning a series of samples, I am working to determine the quantity of such nuclides using gamma-ray spectrometry etc. and investigate the concentration differences among the samples. If the data of chemical components are referred to, elucidation of the source of radioactive nuclides will be possible. Currently, I have been focusing on paper, which is one of the many things that are produced, disposed of, and recycled in large numbers in today’s civilized society, and working on books, magazines, and other paper samples.
