Experimental studies on low-dimensional systems formed at semiconductor surfaces

Current Research

At the surface of metals or semiconductors, low-dimensional systems that are decoupled from the bulk can be formed self-assembly. They show intriguing physical properties that cannot be found in the bulk. We study the quantum physics in these systems focusing on their atomic and electronic structures as well as their transport properties using photoemission spectroscopy, electron diffraction, (multi-probe) scanning tunneling microscopy, and micro-four-point probe method.
