Research Subject
Clarification of Morphogenesis and Morphological Control Mechanism of Plant Cell based on Cytoskeleton and Vacuole
Current Research
Even from one differentiated individual somatic cell and/or protoplast, plants have ability to re-create individuals (totipotency). Plant cells divide, grow, and differentiate to possess various shapes and functions, and eventually plant individuals are established by the accumulation of these behaviors. We think that the building mechanism of individuals will become understandable if we clarify the way how each plant cell is formulated. Thus, we are working on the Morphogenesis of plant cells.
