Research Subject
Development of Novel Molecular Spectroscopy Structure and Function of Complex Molecular Systems Ranging from Molecules to Living cells
Current Research
My research is based on the developments of novel time- and space-resolved spectroscopies, in particular vibrational spectroscopies, and their applications to basic physical chemistry. Application includes the following. -Elucidation of ultrafast photochemical reaction mechanisms such as photoisomerization, photo-induced electron transfer, photo-induced proton transfer etc. -Experimental and theoretical study on dynamic structure of solutions and liquids, and on chemical reaction field -Structure, formation mechanism and property of ionic liquids -In vivo real-time molecular spectroscopy and imaging of living cells -Clinical disease diagnosis using near-infrared Raman spectroscopy
