Behavior of Materials under High-Pressure and High-Temperature Conditions
The structure and properties of materials under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions of the Earth and planetary interiors are quite different from those at ambient conditions of the Earth surface. To clarify the phenomena occurring in the Earth and planetary interiors, we are studying the behavior of materials in-situ at high pressures and temperatures by using new techniques developed by ourselves. Furthermore, we are conducting a search of functional materials that show novel properties, from the perspective of material synthesis under extreme conditions.
