Search for Novel Bioactive Molecules and Analysis of Their Mode of Action
Current Research
Secondary metabolites produced from marine invertebrates tend to have useful activities. Through the search, structural determination and mode of action of novel active substances, I am aiming for the elucidation of biological implication of such metabolites and their application to the society. In particular, Norzoanthamine produced from Zoanthus sp. collected off Amami island has a high metabolite content, which has a suppressive action on osteoporosis, and its practical application is something that is expected of.
