Research Field
Insect Molecular Biology
Research Subject
Molecular Mechanism of Insect Mimicry and Metamorphosis, Transfer Mechanism of Retroposon Specific in Telomere
Current Research
I am working on the evolution of morphology / character of insects that have been adapted to environments as well as the genome evolution, which is specific to insects. My research interests are as follows: 1) Investigation on genetic control mechanism of mimicry patterns of larva such as swallowtail and silkworm 2) Investigation on tissue differentiation control by peripheral hormone and genetic activation mechanism with particular emphasis on wing formation at the time of metamorphosis 3) Investigation on transfer mechanism and adaptation strategy of retrotransposon specifically-inserted to telomere as well as the function and origin of telomere
