On Friday April 22nd, the University of Tokyo welcomed 70 guests from the Sakura Exchange Program in Science, which is organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). The delegation consisted of high school students from India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and the Philippines. These students were selected for the program because of their outstanding academic achievement and were in the process of considering various options for the next stage of their education.

The School of Science staff introduced the school and studying opportunities for international students, which included information about GSC. The students were excited to visit the University of Tokyo, Hongo campus, and were given an exclusive tour of six laboratories in the School of Science.

We were glad to have taken part in this exceptional program and to have conveyed information about GSC to these high school students in Asia. The enthusiasm and knowledge demonstrated by them during the lab tours was impressive and we hope to welcome some of them to GSC in the coming years.
